MathPrepAI is built to be used in real classrooms with children's data, so we treat privacy and security as fundamentals, not add-ons. This page answers what schools and parents usually ask before adopting it.

1. Student data protection

Designed to align with PDPA (Thailand), GDPR-K (EU minors), and COPPA/FERPA guidance (US) — we collect only what teaching and learning require.
Students join with a class code + display name — no email required for younger children, minimising the personal data we hold.
Guardian/school consent flows for minor learners, plus data-deletion on request (DSAR) and scheduled data purges.

2. Security

All traffic over HTTPS; the database and files run on enterprise-grade providers (Neon PostgreSQL · Vercel) with provider-managed backups.
Secrets such as a teacher's own AI key are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and never returned to the client.
All data access goes through server-side APIs that authorise every request — teachers see only their classes, parents only their own child.

3. No ads, no data selling

We show no advertising, never sell or rent student data to third parties, and never use student data for advertising. Our revenue comes solely from the subscriptions teachers and schools pay.

4. Auditable assessment

Exam mode keeps an append-only event log — start/submit times, tab switches, and attendance — giving teachers and reviewers tamper-evident records that answer “what if there's a dispute over a grade or exam?”

5. Your control over your data

Request a copy, correction, or deletion of data (DSAR) — adult learners directly; children via their teacher/guardian.
Parent reports are a progress-storytelling tool (positive language, no comparison to other children); teachers choose what to share.

6. For schools & organisations

A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available on request for your procurement/legal team.
