Counted from the first non-zero digit. In the significant figures are , and — the leading zeros place the number but carry no information.
- Which zeros count
- Leading zeros never count: has two significant figures
- Zeros between digits always count: has four
- Trailing zeros after a decimal point count: has three

ข้อควรระวัง
Look at ONE digit past where you are rounding, never further. Rounding to one decimal place gives ; the does not push the up to first. Rounding in two hops is a real and common error.
